Dialup


Changing your dialup to 0845 487 7954

The following instructions have been prepared for Windows XP, but you will find them similar for your own Windows based operating system.

Overview of Settings

Dialup Number - 0845 487 7954
Username - christianaid
Password -access

 

Step One
Go to Start --> Control Panel (see figure 1) or Start --> Settings --> Control Panel (see figure 2) depending on how you have your system set up.

Step Two
If your Control Panel windows asks you to "Pick a Category" (see figure 3) then click on "Network and Internet Options" and then when asked to "Pick a Task ..... or a Control Panel Icon", click on "Network Connections".

If your control panel window looks like the one in figure 4, then double click on the "Network Connections" icon.

Step Three
In the Network Connections window in the Dial-up section, right click on the Christian Aid (SureFish) Dail-up icon (or the name you have called your dialup connection) that you use and select Properties from the menu that appears. (see figure 5)

Step Four
The Dialup properties window will now have appeared.  You will see in the middle of this window a section called Phone Number with your current dialup number in it.  Change this dialup number to 0845 487 7954 . (see figure 6).  Once changed, click OK at the bottom of that window.

Step Five
You have now completed the phone number change required to use our new network and can connect to the internet as normal. Please complete steps six to seven if your username or password are not correct.

Step Six

Double click your dialup icon as if you were going to manually connect to the internet. Your connection window should look something similar to figure 7.

Step Seven

Check that the username and password details are as follows

Username - christianaid
Password - access

Tick the option that says "Anyone who uses this computer" and your connection should now look like figure 8

Step Eight

Click the "dial" icon and let your computer dial the internet.

You will now be connected to the network and all the new details will have been successfully saved.
